Choosing a “Word of the Year” is more than just a fun tradition—it’s a powerful tool for focus and growth at Vitalia Mentor. A single word can serve as a guiding principle, shaping decisions, inspiring actions, and uniting teams around a shared purpose. By reflecting on the word selected for the year, we gain insight into how it influenced our culture, strengthened connections, and supported meaningful experiences for residents and staff alike. This end of year review allows us to celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and set the stage for continued progress in the year ahead.

The 2025 Word of the Year for Mentor was proactive. We demonstrated this focus by recruiting PRN staff, enhancing employee appreciation efforts, implementing overflow controls on toilets, installing gutter guards, and planning meaningful holiday celebrations. We also successfully hosted our annual Flu Clinic in October.
By prioritizing a proactive mindset throughout the year, we saw significant positive outcomes. Resident satisfaction increased, team culture strengthened, and the overall attitude within the community became noticeably more positive.
A key lesson we will carry forward is the importance of establishing clear intention to achieve our goals. When we are not intentional, confusion, missed deadlines, and loss of focus can quickly follow.
As we look back on the impact of our Word of the Year at Vitalia Mentor, it’s clear this simple concept can spark meaningful change. It has guided our priorities, strengthened our sense of community, and reminded us of the values that matter most. By reviewing the actions and outcomes connected to this word, we not only celebrate what we’ve accomplished but also identify opportunities for continued growth. Let’s carry these lessons forward as we prepare for the year ahead—because one word can truly make a difference when we live it every day.
